Guest
Wonder if someone can help me out? I was reading the Ofsted report for a school that I was applying to and it commented that the physical location of the Nursery and Reception classes would prevent them from becoming a fully integrated FS Unit. I can see lots of benefits from forming FSUnits but the wording of this report seemed to suggest that FS Units will become a statutory requirement in the not too distant future - or am I reading too much into it? AnonyMouse_4544
Cant see it myself there are lots of schools that dont have nurseries to start with and probably equally as many that physically arent suited to developing as units.............unless the government and LEAs plough loads of money to build purpose built units in all schools
Guest
This thought has struck my mind too, not necessarily with the title FS unit, but the CWDC's ( Childrens workforce development council) initial focus is to concentrate on developing EYP (Early years professionals) and Supervisory level graduates for what I beleive to be a more wider supply of early years provision, and as a lot of money is being ploughed in to fund this from central government I wouldn't be surprised if these provisions become "statutory".
