AnonyMouse_30128
so if you have been watching the news this morning there have been discussions about going to a 4 day working week......my immediate thought …"what would this do to an already struggling childcare industry?" How do you think your setting would cope with this?
AnonyMouse_3735
Cannot see it happening, expecting the company to pay the same for 4 days work when they could get 5 is asking a lot. It would be possible but the mindset is to get as much work out of employees as they can and many already expect more than 5 days work , what with work out of hours evenings and weekends. This also would not work for many jobs, cannot get more productivity out of a person who works set shifts for a reason, childcare, shop work, bus drivers, and many other jobs would need more employees to cover , and would cost too much to the company. Nice idea but impractical on so many levels

I'm 'ahead of the game' - that's what I offer now For full day care settings it would not be workable in my humble
