Initially, to cover maternity leave, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. The Pre-School is a non-profit making organisation, with charitable status, and is run by a voluntary committee, mainly parents, an Early Years Manager and Business Manager.The setting provides sessional day care for children aged 2 years, three months to five years, during term time only. Our setting aims to provide high quality care and education for children in the very best facilities, whilst working in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop through play. We aim to add to the life and well-being of the local community and offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity. We endeavour to provide a wide range of stimulating activities in which children can interact with others, learn new and varied skills so they feel comfortable to grow as an individual. We encourage the emotional, social, physical and language development of all children and we aim to provide a smooth and confident transition into school through close links with local Primary Schools. This is an exciting opportunity for a Childcare Practitioner to join the small team at Nanstallon Pre-School.Key Duties 1. Carrying out the role of Key Person. 2. Attending to the needs of children aged 2-5. 3. Working as part of a small team. 4. Planning and delivering age appropriate activities for children across the 2-5 age range, enhancing learning and encouraging children to meet their next steps. 5. Promote good practice and be a role model for other staff and children. 6. Contribute to observation and assessment procedures. 7. Contribute and participate in team meetings. 8. Maintain and promote a positive image of the Pre-School to children, parents and visitors. 9. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the EYFS and how to extend children’s learning. Essential qualifications: CACHE Level 3 or equivalent, with at least 2 years experience Preferred qualifications: GCSE Maths, GCSE English, Paediatric first aid, Child Protection training Hours are negotiable and pay is depending on experience.
