I am hosting SEMH training at our Pre-School next Tuesday 18th October 1900 - 2100 - the course is being run by Babcock Prime our local provider and covers the following

A pathway has been developed by the inclusion team, which takes practitioners through the steps of the Graduated Response to support children with emotional difficulties. The pathway is a live document with all the resources you will need embedded within. The training introduces the pathways and supports practitioners in how to utilise the tool.

The program is designed to discuss the needs of children whose behaviour needs cannot be met via typical routes of behaviour management.  We advise delegates to attend the Behaviour management 0-5 course prior to this course.

The course is designed to be a pathway of support which covers start to finish, how to identify and support the needs of children struggling with SEMH.

The course covers …

What is Personal, Social and Emotional Development and why it is important?

The work of Dr Ferre Leavers and his associated work on levels of well-being and involvement

        How the brain works

        Attachment theory

The role of the adult to regulate emotions

Strategies, Activities and resources to use in practice

The purpose of the SEMH Pathway and how to use it

It challenges practice with concepts such as ‘time-in’ and ‘connection before correction’ to nurture the child’s relationships with adults, and aid the role of the adult in order to support the child’s emotional literacy.

Recommended attendees:

SENCo and all staff working with children

If you are interested in attending the cost is £20 per person

We are based nr Worcester - close to Junct 7 of the M5 - Postcode WR52QB
