AnonyMouse_43750
Yes we do. As we have children from many different nurseries, some that don't seem to have done any of Phase 1. We complete a preconditional checklist that we received from some wonderful phonics training for the children. From that information be group them into a group to concentrate on Phase 1 and a group to start Phase 2. The children that find the preconditional skills difficult have extra support either 1:1 or in small groups as well as their daily phonic session. AnonyMouse_30128
im not a school but I cant see any reason why you wouldn't do this.my youngest is dyslexic and had hearing issues in reception so more time spent on phase 1 would have done her good...rather than a rush to the finish!!
