Guest
I have just got three units back C3, C2 and E3. C3 just a couple of pages to cross ref. C2, 3 more reflections to do, great. E3 just referencing of some questioning my assessor did. The thing is I've also got C16 to finish 8 obs. to do and now also C10. Its taking me so long to do one obs. with all the referring to theorists its taking ages ploughing thru loads of books. I feel like a sinking ship. Any advice would be appreciated. I find it so annoying when I know that people in my group are actually copying work from friends and I'm slogging it out every evening and weekend! Guest
You will have the knowledge, your friends won't. Keep at it, especially Observations. As an employer this is a skill I particularly look for in prospective employees. It is the foundation for most of our work we do with young children. When I was studying for ADCE, I used to write quotes that I had read, which I thought were good or may be relevant, often ones I agreed with in principle, on index cards, with references. ( as you can see I didn't learn how to write concise sentences ) Anyway, these were invaluable for all my assignements, I would look through them and not have to leaf through loads of books to find a relevant quote. You could do similar and file "quote" cards under different theorists names, or specialisms. Hope this helps. Keep at it. Peggy p.s. as long as your Observation is legible, don't feel you have to re-write it for your portfolio, remember NVQ is about assessment of your practice, not your handwriting skills.
