AnonyMouse_14268 Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 What can the learning journeys be downloaded onto by parents? I was asking for USBs so that I could download them for them but it now seems that this would be pointless as no one now seems to have a PC! I am now charging a printing fee and printing the journal out for them. Can the journals be downloaded onto a phone or a tablet? Quote

I would suggest they download it on to a phone though unless they have good icloud storage...the files are quite big!. I offered printing the first year (nightmare won't do it again!) the second year I did memory sticks and the 3rd I did pdf's (easier and cheaper and you can keep a track of who has downloaded and give them a reminder. ) there were one or two who chose not to ...that's their choice I guess. For schools I use usb's and send them securely or pass them on personally Quote
AnonyMouse_75258 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Could I ask, for parents to download as a pdf, can they do this via the Tapestry app or do they need to log in to the Tapestry website? Thank you Quote

AnonyMouse_14268 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Had a nightmare this year. I always make the journals available to download and ask parents for a usb so I can also download for them. This year have been chasing parents for usbs and not getting very far, then I realised does anyone even have a pc or laptop anymore. So I asked the question and it turns out they don’t, so why didn’t they tell me!😡. Offered to print them out but on the understanding they would have to pay. Printed one journal as a test run and it tool a whole colour cartridge which cost £29 😲 and was 175 pages long. Then by accident another journal started printing and got half way through before I realised and of course the parent then messaged to say they didn’t want it due to the cost. I suggested they contact a firm and see If they could get them printed and bound cheaper. This went on with everyone having different suggestions until in the end I washed my hands of it. I have downloaded onto usb for them as back up and urged them all to download onto their phones/tablets. Does anyone else find that parents expect such a lot done for them these days? 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_7120 Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Totally zigzag ...constant hand holding to get anything done/returned. I haven’t given any thought to how mine are getting theirs, I was that disillusioned with their lack of effort last year that you wonder why you bother, but hey I have 2 days lol Quote
