New words/expressions

Recommended Posts

'Gracile' was one I had to look up yesterday.  There was a man on TV talking about bones and he described it as 'gracile'.  Zebedee and I looked at each other and mouthed the word, so I had to look it up!

Mind you, I hadn't retained it 😜  I just had to look at my phone to see if the search was still there and luckily it was!

There was that word too when Boris suspended parliament last year, but that's fallen right off my radar 😂

I just looked up gracile too - lovely word.  If you're interested in words and are on twitter at all Robert McFarlane is well worth folowing - has a word of the day which is nature related and many of them are new to me.  Today's was 'fairy lace' as a name for cow-parsley.  Yesterday's was 'aubade'  - a dawn serenade, a song, poem or piece of music in praise of the day's break.
