AnonyMouse_48011 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 The science is still very unclear about to what degree young children transmit the covid virus and are often don’t display symptoms. It feels like the government don’t really care about the health and safety of staff working closely with young children. In the guidance they admit that social distancing will be impossible. In Reception a ratio of 1 to 15 means staff will be at risk. It makes me feel very angry - there is no consideration for staff safety 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_23379 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 We have an experienced, but mature workforce. Many of us have built up immunity and dealt with the cold viruses that come along. However, Covid-19 is a complete unknown and I also feel very concerned for staff. One staff member always has the flu vaccine and has a vulnerable adult in her household. I cannot see it is right for us not to have PPE and I think we are going back too soon. Our staff have older, vulnerable parents too and it makes me feel we will never have the opportunity to see these family members as the risks will be too great for a long time as we mix with more people. Suddenly there will be too many bubbles mixing again. I just feel the plan is too much, too soon. Having said that we do all miss the children so much and are concerned about their welfare. There is no easy solution. 1 Quote
