Setting not accepting my level 3 qualification

Recommended Posts

I have applied for, gone for an interview and accepted a job for a qualified level 3 practitioner. It's a big, well known company and I've been dealing with their compliance team for all of the paperwork. I gave all my references and filled in the paperwork but after a month I hadn't heard anything back so I called the nursery that I got the job at. They said that my level 3 isn't recognised and that they can't give me the job because of that. I asked them to double check it because it definitely is valid and I was able to speak to the compliance team and they assured me someone would ring me back but they haven't. I've called both the compliance team and the setting this morning and have been told there's no one available to talk to me and that they'll ring me back, They said this yesterday too.

I have got a few second opinions and looked at the guidance myself and I do have a full and relevant level 3. The problem is that I finished it in January 2015, but I started it before September 2014 and they've looked at the end date and not the start date and the qualification changed names after September 2014 so they've looked in the wrong column on the spreadsheet. I turned down another job for this one as I really want to work in this setting, and I'm now jobless and worried about having to find a new job as I've already left my old job.

Is there anything I can do about this? I feel as though I will lose this job over a mistake someone made and I can't seem to convince them that I am actually qualified. They keep saying someone will call me back but then they don't. I know it's not the settings fault but they obviously can't hire me if their compliance team says I'm not qualified, and I can't get through to anyone that is listening to me.

Welcome to the forum, and sorry to hear about the issues that you have been going through with this.

I'm not really sure what to suggest, other than, maybe finding the qualification on the spreadsheet from this page here, stating exactly where it is on there, and explain that they need to be looking at the start date, not the qualification date.

If possible, try to get hold of the contact details for HR at the company so that you can contact them directly.

Good luck!
