Guest Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 Try linking your PE to your topic if possible - for example, our theme for next half term is Fantasy and Fairy Tales, so our Physical Development/PE planning includes gymnastic type floor and apparatus work linked to The Gingerbread Man, 3 Billy Goats Gruff and Jack and the Beanstalk - lots of travelling, climbing, balancing and plenty of opportunity for position work- under the bridge, up the beanstalk, over the meadow etc. Probably not helpful but we have found this is the best way to plan for specific PE lessons - we do most of our PD work outside - again linked to themes or topics. It's easy to build on skills this way.
AnonyMouse_1490 Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 How about the Bear Hunt. At the end of the session our pre-schoolers love to complete the assault course going ,over, under and through the equipment.
