Guest
HI guys Iv'e just been given the position of Reception team leader in a small independent school which I have worked at for years! I was initially very pleased and excited at the thought of being in charge of taking us from a quite formal environment to a more play based one. As I sit here the enormity of the task has just hit me!!! I will explain our setup, we have two Reception classes which are next to each other. In September they will be made into one larger room. We have lots of extra lessons ie Games, Music ,French, Ballet ,swimming, all taken by specialist teachers. I am wondering if anyone else out there is working in a similar school/setup? I would appreciate input into how you organise your day including cll and maths keeping it practical whilst children are being taken out for other lessons, HELP! I am beginning to wonder what i have let myself in for, and am feeling a bit nervous!

AnonyMouse_79
Congratulations, Mottie. I think its normal to feel a bit apprehensive and nervous but that doesnt mean you are not up to the task. I am sure once you get sorted and started everything will fall into place. Have you thought aboout some sort of task board to keep the children on track? Good luck. Guest Really
Congratulations! I was offered a place on the middle management team just after I finished my NQT year last year. I felt the same, but just remember if they didn't think you were able to do it they wouldn't have been promoted. You will be fine
