Guest Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I recently requested the role of head of our nursery unit. Both the head of school and head of pre prep are supportive and think in principle it's a good idea. However, they have asked me to consider instead becomming the foundation stage co-ordinator responsible for both the nursery unit and the 2 reception classes. I am considering this but would appreciate any advice on the role of the FSC as we have not had such a postition in our school before. Looking forward to hearing from all those FS coordinators out there
AnonyMouse_79 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 "Head of Foundation Stage" then??? I would think it a good idea to have both nursery and reception with the same co ordinator or head especially as foundation stage units are becoming more popular--even if you dont want to directly mix the two you can keep them more together / coordinated(?) that way! Have a read of the "Foundation stage Teacher in action" if you havent already. Theres a review on site. Good luck.
Guest Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Susan thank you for replying. I agree it would seem a very good idea to have one person co-ordinating nursery and reception and am still thinking hard. I have got a copy of Nursery Teacher in Action. Excellent book for all those in Foundation Stage.
