Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Does anyone have experience of using the LDA resource Time to Talk that includes Ginger Teddy?
AnonyMouse_2760 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Yes. I know exactly what you mean. My TA used it with a small group of 'quiet' children last year and she really liked it. I havent planned it in this year as with SEAL and everything else I never got around to it. Now you have reminded me I will take a fresh look.
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 We used it last year with reception and carried it on when the children were Y1 for the beginning of the year. We haven't done it this year with the reception children, for various reasons, but probably will next year with some of the children. It is a good resource to encourage confidence in speaking in small groups and good to increase vocabulary.
Guest Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I use 'Time to talk', and its fantastic. Each friday Ginger (who I bought from bear factory so she can have lots of clothes) whispers in my ear as to who was best listener and they take her home for the weekend and fill in her diary for me to read on Monday morning. The children adore this and love Gingers rules of listening and her certificates. Ginger even has a web site from when she went with two children to america at easter.
AnonyMouse_379 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I would be interested to learn more about the resource mentioned above... as I have never heard of it.... Can anyone post some more detials Thanks Lorna
Guest Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Its a pse based programme, with lesson plans and resources in a really simple format. I do it twice a week and it gradually introduces ginger and her family and best friend Mopsy the rabbit. I really like it and ofsted liked my lesson I did from it too! look on amazon for it x
