Making Books

Just picking your brains - am looking to buy a binder (the type where you insert plastic comb? edge) to make our Policies and other documents look a little bit nicer - has anyone got one? is it useful? is there much difference in the makes vs prices? are they a waste of time? too fiddly? or easy to operate?

sorry for the 'twenty questions' but I don't want to go ahead and buy something which I later regret.

Thanks

WE have one , we got it this year and I agree with you it makes things look more 'professional'.They are straight forwards to use we have made calendars (SOLD THEM AT CHRISTMAS), Reception handbooks to parents, and children in yr5/6 have made books.

Where are you based as we have one that I nearly threw away today. Our secretary has some repetitive strain problem with her wrist so we have got her an electric one. It is quite heavy so I don't know what postage would be but it may be better than buying a new one.

Let me know and we'll see what we can do.

if you do buy one make sure it is a good quality and size and takes enough pages for your needs, have used a small one which was far too fiddly and time consuming, and if they are not big enough to hold the pages they keep falling out, holes kept getting punched in wrong places or too near edge, could go on forever!!. must admit I hate them...takes too long, ok it you can delegate!! Lucky to have been given a heat binder, the covers are more costly but worth it for the time saved ten times over!!
