Dfes Coding For Ethnic Groups

have discovered that there is now a code for being Cornish!!!

WCOR will now be my very own ethnic code which I shall be sticking on all official documents with pride. I suspect this has something to do with Cornwall being recognised somewhere at EU level as a distinct region with it's own language and heritage (finally) and so the Dfes have added this code.

Onen hag ol as the Cornish say!*

I shall look out for that one ( and know what it means-thanks) on any future ethnic monitoring forms. :D

I only wish they would change the term 'other' on these forms to a more positive title, ie: 'unique' as I am aware that 'other' is disliked by many people who have duel or more ethnic heritage.

I once had a child who was Afro carribean, dutch and irish heritage, and she was definately not an 'other'.
