Guest
Busy tonight. How sad I should be at the pub. Any ideas for display websites. I like displays of childrens work and need some inspiration for 3-d anything different!
Guest
Depending what you are displaying, you could do things like staple lightweight open painted boxes to the wall and display objects inside the boxes so they look a bit like individual shelves, we did this once for a toy museum display and it looked very effective. You can get very easy 3D effects by varying the materials you use on your display, e.g.bubblewrap, corrugated card. Also we have used tactics when stapling such as curving paper or stapling objects putting padding/ screwed up newpaperetc behind the child's picture-this works well for example on 'faces' displays-hope this helps a bit! Guest tinkerbell
Teachers Do you like this idea?saw it last year at a sculpture trail. The little people are made out of plastic bottles cut and coloured (waterproof/permeanent pens) sequined etc each hand and foot os hole punched and treasurery tagged to the next character to make a lovely curtain...the light coming through was lovely.I plan to do this in our firld some time soon Tinkerbellx ps you could do it indoors across a window but we are not allowed to dangle due to security beams Just realised this is in ICT discussion OOps Must admit my ICT skills are getting better at putting pics in although I got the same one twice! Guest
Tinkerbell - what a brilliant idea - are the plastic bottles the normal lemonade/fizzy pop type? How did they stop them from curling up? Or don't they do that once cut? I'll have to finish my girls fizzy pop off in the fridge - I'm dying to have a go it looks so effective. Guest tinkerbell
Hi I think the plastic people are made from plastic drink bottles because you can see corrugations like there are on bottles.I think you would cut the bottles and flatten them out, then use a template to get basic shape. I have made masks from washing liquid bottles by cutting open and cutting shape with scissors, the plastic is quite flexible. Tinkerbellx
