Role Play Ideas For Toys Topic

Hi,

 

I am stumped for ideas for role play for toys. We are making a toyshop in our shop area but other than that i am well and truly stuck.

Have you seen this its mixed age classes but works well for FS too

writing labels, price lists for toys. Give chn an Argos or other catalogue and let them use this to make their own catalogue. Have a special sale and mark down prices. Change toy shop to a toy museum and introduce 'old toys', or have a teddy bear shop.

 

Challenge children to use construction toys - eg. make a road way with 2 bridges, make a chair for one of the toys using duplo, use mobilo to make a fire engine with a ladder that lifts up (could even give them a dolls house and say their ladder has to reach the upstiars window/roof) - lots of opportunities here to tie in with stories.
