Steve Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Hi - The newly constituted International Froebel Society and the School of Education Studies at the University of Surrey Roehampton have asked me to publicize their first Froebelian conference, details below: Froebel in the Twenty First Century: challenges and uncertainties 1st – 3rd July 2004 The conference seeks to address the questions of what Froebel means in the Twenty First Century in terms of a distinctive philosophy and a practice of education. The challenges of the title may be taken to mean the impact of alternative ways of seeing on Froebel’s work and the principles derived from it. Competing approaches to early childhood practices create uncertainties, as do the political, economic and social transformations of our time. It is hoped the conference will address these changes and confront them critically in order to provide a new sense of what it is to be Froebelian at the beginning of a new century. Steve Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 You're welcome Chris. I must admit I don't know too much about Froebelian philosophy.
