Guest
Sorry, another request... I need to find out the legislation which underpins the Birth to Three Matters Framework and despite searching for the last 2 hours, I can't come up with anything other than it is a result of the 'government's commitment to raising standards' which is all very good, but doesn't really help! I have done various Google searches, checked on the standards site and so on, but I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Maybe I'm on the right sites but just looking in the wrong places. Please help before I go mental! Thanks!
Guest
To be honest I cannot remember when it all started have your tried the National Childcare Strategy, the Green Paper, Children's Act. So often these things take so long to come about - have you downloaded the BTTM as often it gives something in the introduction as to how it came about and refers to legislation etc. I am sure however someone will be able to direct you to the legislation where it was first mentioned Nikki
Guest
referred to in the National Standards . other than that I thought it was guidance rather than legislation. Peggy
AnonyMouse_4495
Like Peggy, I don't think that it is underpinned by any legislation. There was a defninte need for 'something' for the under three age group and Birth to Three was born (poor pun, sorry!) It is a framework rather than a required curriculum, like the Foundation Stage. It will be underpinned by the Childcare Act 2006 in the EYFS when it is eventually published (not holding my breath for January!)
