Guest
Within the integrated units, do you do formal PE in the hall -games, apparatus, gym etc. I just wander as my new NQT keeps telling me that we should not do formal PE lessons with the Reception children- and if we are hoping to become an integrated unit should i have hall slots for Nursery and Reception? Thanks
Guest
When i was part of an ey unit I did take the YR children to the hall for a formal PE lesson for about 30 mins. The children love it especially if they have to change into a PE kit. Nursery used their outside area. I think YR children are that bit older and the curriculum can be adapted to meet their needs. If a child was really stressed about PE I would allow them just to watch for the first few sessions. They soon joined in.
AnonyMouse_4544
We are a FSU and don't do formal PE lessons although we do have hall time every day which we use for dance and SAQ with all children. We tend to do the game type activities outside.
Guest
I am part of an FSU and we (F2's) join the Yr1 class for Gymnastics for half an hour each week. The children love it.
