Guest
Hi all I don't know whether this has been discussed before - a bit pushed for time at the moment, so not searched for it. Has anyone any experience at buying and using touch screen computers. If so I would love to pick your brains as to recommendations and ease of installation/set up and use. We don't have Internet access at Pre School - so it would be used primarily for running discs etc. Can anyone off any tips/ advice/suppliers? Guest
I have experience of using a touch screen with a special needs child in a wheelchair. We found it necessary to also adapt the computer station to allow her to sit comfortably and activate the touch monitor. We received advice and assistance from CENMAC. http://www.cenmac.com/ I realise this is a London based organisation but thay may be able to put you in touch with a local provider. I would also suggest you investigate Inclusive http://www.inclusive.co.uk/products/index.shtml who specialise in the products you are talking about. Hope this is useful, Janet
Guest
thanks Jane Used the links to the website for inclusive products and found it really useful for my ICT unit for research into hardware products for my foundation degree, Mel
Guest
Inclusive are really good for SEN stuff, we use them alot at work. All our monitors are touch screen ones and as ICT co-ordinator I should know where they are from but they were all bought before I came to the school so I don't! Sorry! I'm not at work this week (been off for 3 weeks now with my sprained ankle) so can't find out but if you've still not got any details when I go back after Easter then I'll find them out for you.
