Observation Questionnaires For Staff

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi there - i need to develop a programme of training around using observations (incidental & formal) to inform planning / develop a picture of the whole child / assessment etc for staff across the foundation stage (nursery-rec) in my setting & thought starting with a questionnaire about satff's knowledge /experience & undersatanding of observations & their use would be a good starting point - does anybody have any proformas based on this that they have used successfully before?? or know of any sites where i may be able to track something along these lines down???

Many thanks, in anticipation, for your help :)

Hi fluffy, haven't got a proforma but questions could include;

Why do you think observations are necessary?

How many observation methods can you list?

What observation methods have you used?

What observation method would you use for the following assessment.........

language development?

Physical skills?

Behaviour?

social interaction?

What role does the parent play in informing assessments?

How often do you think you need to do observations?

What is the difference between informal and formal observations?

What do you do with the information within observations?

How do you insure observations are relevant and factual?

What do we mean by the terms 'subjective' and 'objective'

Hope these help.

Peggy
