Guest Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Hello out there Hope everyone is enjoying a half term break. At the moment am snowed under with paperwork, review writing etc. Just wondered if anyone could send me the words to THERE'S A TINY CATERPILLAR ON A LEAF please. Have left my book at school, and need to sort out props today if possible. Cheers
AnonyMouse_64 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Tiny Caterpillar Tune: She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain There's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf, wiggle, wiggle! There's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf, wiggle, wiggle! There's a tiny caterpillar, a tiny caterpillar There's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf, wiggle, wiggle! Additional Verses: There's a hungry caterpillar on a leaf, munch, munch! There's a shiny chrysalis on a leaf, shh, shh! There's a lovely butterfly flying high, flutter, flutter!
Guest Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 The words I've got are a bit different Carol: 1st verse is same but then: 2nd verse -He will eat the leaves around him til he's full, munch, munch..... 3rd verse- A cocoon is what he's spinning for his home, spin,spin.... 4th verse - He will be a butterfly and fly like this flap,flap.... It's great to know other versions though. Mine is from 'Bobby Shaftoe clap your hands' book here are some other caterpillar songs I've found: This song can be used with the Eric Carle book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" The Little Caterpillar Sung to (Itsy, Bitsy Spider) The little caterpillar crawled up into a tree, Spun his cocoon and slept so quietly, All through the winter he didn't make a sound, He dreamt of his new life when he'd be flying all around. While he was sleeping the snow did gently fall, Winter came and went, then her heard the robin's call, "Come on Mr. Butterfly, out of your cocoon Spread your wings and fly for me, while I sing my tune. Another song about caterpillars is Caterpillar (sung to Row, row your boat) One caterpillar ,two caterpillars, three caterpillars today. Four caterpillars, five caterpillars eating all the day. One cocoon, two cocoons, three cocoons today. Four cocoons, five cocoons sleeping all the day. One butterfly, two butterflies, three butterflies today. Four butterflies, five butterflies, flying, flying away. Fuzzy Little Caterpillar The fuzzy little caterpillar In the garden creeps. He spins himself a blanket And soon falls fast asleep. The fuzzy little caterpillar Wakes up by and by To find he has beautiful wings And changed into a Butterfly I'm a Butterfly... Tune: Pop Goes The Weasel I spin and spin my chrysalis, Then I go rest inside. When I come out, I've changed indeed... Look! I'm a butterfly! Butterfly Cycle (Tune Row, Row, Row Your Boat) Hatch, hatch little egg, I'm so very small. Teeny tiny caterpillar, You can't see me at all. Crawl, caterpillar, crawl, Munching on a leaf. Crawling, munching, crawling, munching, Eat and eat and eat. Form, form chrysalis, I'm a different shape; Hanging by a silken thread Until I can escape. Rest, rest, chrysalis While I change inside; Now at last my time has come To be a butterfly. Stretch, stretch, pretty wings, It's a special day; Soon they will be strong enough For me to fly away. Fly, fly, butterfly, Fly from flower to tree; Find a place to lay my eggs So they can grow like me.
Guest Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Thank you everyone back to the planning now!!!!!! Happy New Term x
Guest Wolfie Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Here's another one which our children loved...I can remember the tune but don't know what it's called!... Down at the bottom of the garden, what do you think I saw? Eggs in a cluster, yellow as a duster They weren't there before! Down at the bottom of the garden, what do you think I saw? Caterpillars munching, caterpillars crunching They weren't there before! Down at the bottom of the garden, what do you think I saw? Something rather super, something called a pupa They weren't there before! Down at the bottom of the garden, what do you think I saw? I saw a butterfly, I saw it flutter by It wasn't there before! And start again...if you want to! I wish I knew what the tune was, it's really catchy!
