New Neighbourhood Nursery

Well I was asked to keep you all posted on how the NNI Nursery was coming along and how I am getting planning together as part of my job description is to organise and oversee the planning curriculum for the whole nursery. The children will be from 6 weeks to 5 years!! The nursery is still not fully open but the builders are sceduled to come in and finish off over the next few weeks so we should be properly open after Easter. It has been hard and we are still unsure exactly what is needed or expected of us in a Neighbourhood Nursery. It is very much needed and already we have children booked in with no advertising help, it has been through word of mouth. We are really hoping to help the family as a whole through this initiative. Caring for the children but also supporting the parents, by giving help and advice on training, getting back to work, caring for their children, etc, I am hoping that we will be able to help parents with a book/video lending library for their children. Also a adult book library with books to help and support them with their child. We are also hoping that we will be able to enable access to a computer should they need to use it to write letters, CV's, etc. Any other ideas/sugestions will be gratefully received. Well thats it for now. I will let you know how it is going in a few months time when we will be 'hopefully' up and running!!
