Helen
Hi Alison, Welcome to the site, and thanks for posting. I know this is a FS site, but I am interested in the under-threes too, as we take children from 2.5. Perhaps we can set up a separate forum for the under-threes and we can quiz you about your planning for this age group?
Guest
Hi Helen I work with children from 12 months and would definately be interested in a 0-3's forum!
Steve
Hi Sue - Your wish is our command! I've set up a birth to three matters forum under the Curriculum discussion group. Hope this helps Steve
AnonyMouse_534
Hi All The way we plan is as follows. Long term plans are rolling every year with the elg's written on. The medium term plans are written every half term and sometimes include a topic (not all the time). Written on these are the stepping stones what we want the children cover for that half term but they are usually taken from the first or second band of the steppings stones. Short term plans are written weekly and on these sheets we have the activities written down and how we want to achieve the stepping stones listed on the meduim plans. We can have a sheet a day or three for the week as long as we have covered our stepping stones on our medium term. Child observations are taken all week and it is noted what stepping stone the individual child is at and if they need some more help. This helps us with further planning. We have a floor plan that shows what tables or mats cover the different elg's. This stays the same we just change activities that are out on different days. Hope this makes some sense.
