AnonyMouse_6361
measure a room for children birth to 5 years old? I've worked in a small room and was wondering how many children we can have per age group to square meters ratio. Beth
Guest
measure the room in metres from end to end, so you could end up with 3 metres by 4 metres, multiply 3 x 4 then divide by 2.5 this will give you home many children, if they are under 3's. you can check in the Standards book for how many metres per child depending on their age. AnonyMouse_4495
Don't forget to take out all fixed items eg bookshelves, sinks etc as these cannot be counted! If you have tables or storage on trolleys that can be moved, you don't have to worry about these as they can be moved away to create 'available play space'.
