Considering Giving It All Up

Well, I went for the interview today. The manager met me and showed me round the nursery. I couldn't believe how beautiful it is. It's brand new and really really spacious. Lovely and light, colourful... I got very excited!

She talked me though the things they do with the children and I was shocked to hear that they actually encourage messy play in the baby room! My face must have hit the floor because she asked me what I felt about that. I could hardly contain my excitement and half wished that I was a baby :o .

We then had a chat about things. I am so excited about the way the nursery is run (there are others in the company), even more so because they actually follow the rules! Health and safety is a big thing for them and they welcome people who ask questions and want to get involed. I really think I have found the perfect job at long, long last! It's on a job share basis which suits me in terms of hours plus they are willing to support me in the FD as the manager is doing hers also.

I've been offered a two week trial at one of the other nurseries starting Monday, so I'm going to throw myself into that. I really want to give them a reason to take me on at the end of it as I feel I am going to do well there.

As usual, I am really nervous about starting on Monday, but I am trying to overcome this and I'm hoping I can show that I am confident and capable. Using feedback from my last 'job' (you don't show anything you've learnt on the FD in your work) I mentioned my development plans and different things I was doing, as well as taking my first module's work with me. The manager seemed really impressed with my grades which was also a positive thing.

So, I will let you all know on Monday how the first day goes, hopefully with some good news! :D
