Guest Wolfie Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 You mean a quote from a renowned theorist? Or something more general?
Guest justinece Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 ‘We live in a relative universe and …relativity seeks adjustment; that adjustment is art; …the art of life lies in a constant re-adjustment to one’s surroundings’ (Okakura, cited in Cohen, 2005) How is this?
Guest justinece Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Cohen, L, Manion, L, Morrison, K (2003) Research Methods in Education, 5th Edition New York Taylor & Francis Routledge: London thats the full book reference
AnonyMouse_7317 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Hi If you search in google it brings up websites where you can get inspirational quotes if that is what you are looking for.
Guest Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 (edited) You mean a quote from a renowned theorist? Or something more general? I would prefer something a bit more general as the presentation has got plenty of references to the theorists, nothing too heavy if you know what i mean! Thanks, its harder than i thought!!! AnonyMouse_3735 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Is the dorothy L nolte poem suitable children learn what they live Or part of it Inge
Guest Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Inge, that's the first thing I thought of when reading swoolhouses' theme 'childrens learning and the barriers' definately think the poem says it all. Peggy
Guest Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 These are both word documents but you may be able to use something from them. Good luck! I seem to quote 'play is a child's work' about 100 times a week - it really is my hobbyhorse! I have laminated the 'what children retain and display it around the nursery, put it in the joining pack etc..... what_children_retain.doc play_for_play__s_sake.doc
Guest Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Thanks for those LJW, not seen them before and certainly state what should be the reality of childhood. Peggy
Guest Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Thank you for sharing those LJW - I'm in the process of gathering quotes to support learning through play and exploration to display in our reception - and they fit the bill nicely. Thanks again Sam
Guest Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Thanks from me too LJW, they're great, copied, laminated and displayed by today!!!
Guest Wolfie Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I've got a nice little A4 poster...which I'll try and scan to attach later.....with a child playing and the quote: "What children bring home in their heads is far more important than what they bring home in their hands" - a good one if you're trying to get the message across that process is more important than end product.
Guest Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 No problem! Knew I hoarded all these things for a purpose! Back off to stash some more!
Guest Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Wolfie I would love a copy of this poster if possible. thank you Chill
AnonyMouse_3735 Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Thank you Wolfie ... now made our own poster using picture of our children at play and your quote! Lucky have resources as made it A3... really stands out..... Inge
