AnonyMouse_79 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Has anyone got and if so how would you rate the Kirklees publication "Planning the continuous curriculum" (or similar!) I have seen it briefly as Featherstone Education is an outlet but it is very expensive and I dont want to dig so deep unless it is really really good!
AnonyMouse_6361 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Hi just found this on the Kirklees website which includes the book you were looking at. It gives out sample pages to look at. http://www.kirklees-ednet.org.uk/acatalog/...y_Years_12.html I hope this works. Beth
AnonyMouse_79 Posted May 27, 2007 Author Posted May 27, 2007 Thanks beth! Ive just located that too but I'd still like to know if anyone has this book and how they rate it.
Guest Wolfie Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 And has anyone bought the other book featured on the same page - "Developing the Foundation Stage"? I'd be interested to know what anyone thinks of that one too! Sorry Sue, didn't mean to hijack your post!
AnonyMouse_4544 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Just received my copy will let you know what I think but first impressions are good. Also bought Guidance for Literacy and Numeracy .....
Guest Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Can't wait to find out......................what do you think of it?
AnonyMouse_4544 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I know it has been a while but it is one of those books I just can't decide. It really depends what you expect to get from it. It has certainly made me think but it doesn't offer any answers. The book is split up into three sections. Section A poses lots and lots of questions and provides blank spaces for you to write your own reflections in response to the questions. Section B looks at Key Learning Experiences and where we might find them in the setting. Section C deals with transition to KS1 and links the type of provision found in the FS to Y1. Is it really really really good? (worth the cost) probably not if you are looking for answers.
AnonyMouse_79 Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Thanks Marion. As I havent got a job next term now I think I may give it a miss then!
AnonyMouse_4544 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I feel it is expensive for what it offers. I would be happy to scan a "snippet" if anyone wanted me to email them an example obviously with copyright it would be limited.
