AnonyMouse_4145
Not feeling very inspired, we are doing Take One Picture week through the National Gallery, the painting has cows as a feature of it, which the nursery are focussing on. Has anyone got any inspired ideas for this mini topic - cows and milk, so far are collaging a cow picture, churning butter, Cows in the Kitchen, where does milk come from does anyone have any good ideas Thank you bb
AnonyMouse_832
I was in Brussels one year that they had lots of life size models of cows all decorated with different themes - they were fantastic. There are pictures of them on this website. http://users.pandora.be/quarsan/2003pics/cows/1.html Also here are loads more pictures they are going around the world still!! http://www.cowparade.net/ Not sure if this is any help but they are good to look at. Guest
you could colour the water white in the water tray, supply them with bottles and little carriers, then they could act out being the milkman. Just a thought !!!!
AnonyMouse_8285
Hi, recently looked at cows with my preschool class, We used a latex glove with holes in the fingers full of milk to pretend to milk a cow. The children brought in an old milk carton and re designed it using drawings, pictures, green paper etc. We made a milk chart where the children rewarded themselves with a sticker if they drank the daily recommended amount. Hope this helps
AnonyMouse_2732
Sorry to be boring......... Please be careful when using latex gloves as there is an increasing incidence of latex allergy. You could use vinyl gloves, which are readily available and work just as well. Otherwise, a great idea Sue
AnonyMouse_7441
Problem! Cows are having a holiday and want to have a bit of fun. They are quite bored with making milk that is white. They need children to help them decide the most popular colour to make. (Letter from cows) What colour milk would children most prefer to drink if cows could produce any colour at all? Investigate how milk can be made different colours bearing in mind Sue R's post about allergies. Natural food colourings available (Got some from Tesco but not all so point for consideration). What means can be used to change colour? Whisk,stir,blend,swish... Make a simple pictogram to show preferences? Reply from cows of course. They decide to go with white! Well they would woudn't they! And of course PSE links. Our respect and thanks for animals that give us needs without thought. luluj
