Guest Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I've just seen an advuert for a childrens centre coodinator and am just wondering if any of you know what this entails. I've asked for details but it's gonna take a couple of days to get here and i'm being very impatient and want to know now! So any comments would be gratefully received! (To be honest i know very little about children centres!) Thanks.
AnonyMouse_7317 Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 We have a childrens centre manager who is responsible for overseeing the core services supplied health, family support and education they are also responsible for ensuring that reach figures are collated and maintained. Not sure if this is what your job will be or if this role will involve co-ordinating the day care creche and wrap around care which is probarly more likely this involves co-ordinating all the childcare needs of the centre from developing creches within the community to setting up and maintaining day care and wrap around care. Hope this makes a little sense and is not too confusing. shelley
Guest Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 it will probably depend on your LA. I'm a children's centre coordinator and also the QT. I'm sharing centre manager with a SHP and doing lots of preschool support too. Feel free to PM me! Janine
Guest Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I am a childrens centre manager and my LA also has children centre co-ordinators. I think in my area if the centre is offering full core services then they call them managers if they are offering services in line with the 70% SOA they get called co-ordinators. So apart from the full day care nursery we all do the same thing. Just as all childrens centres operate differently, so they give people different job titles for sometimes the same job and sometimes different. Not much help really and as the previous person said she's a QT co-ordinator and half centre manager - put it like this it will probably cover everything. Nikki
