Guest Posted June 24, 2007 Share Posted June 24, 2007 We would like to do something fairly low key in our local Church with our pre-school children -on the run up to Christmas.Has anyone tried something that works with2,3 and 4's other than reenacting the Nativity story and sing carols or do you think it would be best to just stick to that sort of thing? Dont you think that the Nativity or some simple connections are important though after all that is what Christmas is all about and especially for our youngest children who need to learn about this sort of thing rather than just expect a present or two? Guest Posted June 24, 2007 Share Posted June 24, 2007 We did a story about an angel who wants to know what is so special about Christmas. S/he sees lots of Christmassy things such as snowmen, children hanging up stockings, santa and his toy sack, and ultimately the nativity scene. Children dressed up and sang songs which kept it simple but still meaningful. It was based on "Something Special" which you can buy but we adapted the words and chose our own songs and carols.
