  1. Glad I am not the only one having bathroom issues!!!! The bathroom is so tight (and we had considered labelling 1 toilet/sink for each bubble) we are just going for it?! We had a couple of 'accidents' but generally working better than it was although my cleaning product bill is getting bigger and bigger. Someone just told me that from 23rd July you don't need bubbles???!
  2. Thanks all....I'm.still confused! I have opened by splitting the room into 2, having 2 groups (one each side) of upto 8 of the same children with 2 staff in each group, however this is proving tricky what with trying to use the same bathroom (can't tell you how many times we clean it!) the garden...space is tight. I was thinking of opening whole room.back up, 16 different children but maximum of 12 per day with 3 staff but wasn't sure if this is within the confusing guidelines? One thing I do know is.....is that I'm going through lots of cleaning products! Thanks again.x

Afternoon All, I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine Unsure if all the bubbling talk, sun or cleaning has freezed my brain but wondered if anyone knew what this actually means? especially the bit in red: Keeping group sizes to a maximum of 8 children, while adhering to EYFS ratios, is preferable so groups are as small as possible. Providers are expected to ensure that there are no more than 16 children in a group in early years settings Does that mean you can have say 12 children and 3 staff in a bubble? (aged 3+) Thank you.x
  4. I've decided that if I have any confirmed case the whole nursery will close for 14 days. I have siblings in different rooms who can't be in the same bubble due to age as well as bubbles being formed outside the nursery!
  5. Afternoon All, I hope everyone is doing well. Just a quick question (well probably not quick!) has anyone changed their bubbles around? I noticed on the 'Family' website that they say that bubbles should.... Contain the same children for a minimum of one week (Monday to Friday) and ideally longer with at least a weekend between new bubbles So taking from that, that I could change my bubbles around next Monday??? This would only involve a few children moving from one bubble to another, after this week we have realised that some children need to be within another bubbles (due to staff, friends, environment!) Just wondering if anyone else has done this? Many thanks. x

Thank you Mouseketeer - that is the option I have gone with, going to keep the same 12 children in my preschool room all week (meaning 8 children will initially miss out) with a max of 12 but min. of 8 (depending on days they attend) and see how I go after the 1st week....already had few parents of those who are missing out saying they are not happy.....but what can one do! xx
  7. Evening All, Can I just ask how nurseries are actually arranging there space/splitting staff/children into bubbles? I have 2 rooms (baby & toddler and preschool room) to start with I was think I will have 10 children in the baby/toddler room and maybe 10 - 12 in the preschool room. I was going to (somehow) half the room so that each side would have 5 or 6 children and 2 staff (maximum of 8 people each side) but this seems very over staffed (total of approx. 21 children with 8 staff - not very cost effective). I need 2 staff each side to cover staff going to the toilet/lunch etc (we are opening 8am - 4pm). Now wondering if I should leave the room open (and free flow with limited resources) with 10 - 12 children and 3 staff - staff keeping 2 meters apart from each other and following the guidance of staff sitting/standing behind children/keeping a distance etc These bubbles are really hurting my head! Good luck everyone - I'm not opening to 15th so have some time to think about it :)!

I will say until they get a test they can't return but the bubble and staff that was in Joey's bubble can (having 2 staff per bubble is what I will also do) - if Joey tests negative he can return, if he tests positive he will have to stay off for 7 days and his bubble 14 (and if joey had a sibling in a different room/area that bubble would also have to isolate for 7 days). My big worry is, hayfever season.....babies....how soon before we are actually sending a child home because they have a high temperature - but just that, a high temperature because of the weather, teething.....rather than the virus
  9. Thanks guys - I just don't want to miss anything out and think parents may need 'odd' reminding about social distancing (especially when dropping their child off in the morning). Maybe I'll print some off? I'll have a think. Thanks.x
  10. Hi All, Guess we are all working on this Bank Holiday weekend! I have decided not to reopen to 15th June - I need more time to get everything right (well as right as I can!) Just wonder if everyone is printing off COVID19 signage? or is anyone has found a good website where I can order? Many thanks and happy Sunday.x
  11. Morning All, I am planning to open w/c 8th June, feeling I don't have enough time to put everything into place for 1st June. Wondering if anyone has sent a new 'contract' or letter of agreement to parents regarding new policies and procedures around re-opening to relation to COVID-19? That they would mind sharing? I'm having a mental block! I did have a zoom meeting with our local council yesterday and they suggested that you could 'bubble' children (so 1 adult with a small number between 1 - 8) that bubble would stay with the adult during the day and it would be a good idea for each child to have their own resources in box that they would play with during the day (playdoh, scissors, pencils, dolly etc) for younger children they could 'share' the box as they wouldn't understand the concept of having their own resources. Lots of planning I can see Good luck and enjoy the sunshine if you can!

  13. I'm undecided what to do with staff, having only a few work wondering if some staff may think I can work and get paid 100% or not work, sit in the sun and get paid 80%? How will you choose who works and who doesn't?

Hi, I am just in the process of writing a list (very long one) of all the stuff I will need to do before opening, I am giving myself until either 8th or 15th June (1st June is way too early) - my list already has 16 points including re-writing policies, cleaning, rearranging rooms, training staff, storing of soft furnishing (cushions for example) etc etc. As yet no staff have said they won't be returning but I haven't really given them a date when we might be - I've just emailed all my parents to see how many want to return in June. If anyone does come up with policies etc that would be great! Good luck all.x
