  1. One suspects of course that it would naturally be the ones that "hate you" who would be the first to sue for negligence f their child picked up covid from being in the setting! ps as Pimms has an alcohol base is it now a legal item in pre-school unlike lego? #asking for a friend
  2. we are in a Parish hall and I have to meet with them (at a distance of course because Im allowed to work with 2 year old's on mass but not get close to one adult.)....I am writing a game plan for how we can safely work, a risk assessment and have asked if we can have social distance marking on the pathway outside....To be honest you could try throwing the "its an income for the hall owners " line and as they have said to us no one else will be using the hall fat the current time, we have explained our plans and how we will also up the cleaning regime. If you are the halls biggest user and income provider then you should have a strong hand....if of course you want to re open
  3. but probably spot on the money!
  4. Me too...I hated closing the doors and thought I wouldnt see some of our little ones again as they would be starting school in Sept.....however like you I dread the going back to something that isn't pre-school, isn't ideal and probably isn't safe for staff. I imagine of course as we are all carers we will do our best, try to be strong and we will adapt and manage but I'm not convinced its in the best interests of the children but then of course when have their best interests ever really been considered.
  5. If you do a risk assessment I would love to see it.....I think mine might be the size of the Bible....and I still would be missing stuff!
  6. This is what I have so far bombarded my families with but I have also told them things are changing as the info drips out as to what we are being expected to offer and the H&S advice......it's all a bit emperor's new clothes.... --------------------------------------------- We are still waiting for details and working on strategies but if we are able to open in June then there will be certain changes to our procedures and regulations ( we have not yet had the go ahead on this from either the local early years department nor the local parish council) ....small children en masse are not able to keep at a social distance and those who have worked throughout with key children in day nurseries have not adapted their work in this way...it just is not possible! If the next phase goes to plan then these are some of the things we are considering to ensure the safety of your children, yourselves, your loved ones at home, other parents and of course staff...they are not yet written in stone and of course if the R rate goes higher then we may well find that lockdown continues Things we are considering; pre allotted timed /staged drop off and collections from 9 am until 9-30 (12 - 12-30); NO PARKING outside the front of the building (except for staff in allocated spaces) which might compromise peoples ability to socially distance whilst waiting to go in; A one way entry system via the left hand pathway to the rear of the hall with markings to ensure 2mtr spacing; child to be handed to a member of staff at the rear door (who will take them and wash their hands and then deliver them one at a time to the garden);Parents will leave the drop off zone via the steps to the Dr's carpark so that they do not need to pass others waiting to drop off; Children will be outdoors all day unless they are using the bathroom regardless of the weather; parents on collection will likewise use the left hand path be let through the gate one at a time to collect their child and exit via the other gate so that again they do not pass others waiting to collect;Parents will be individually responsible for ensuring that their own child/ren behave and follow the markings till entry and after exit; Children who develop a temperature at any time at home or in setting will not be allowed in for 14 days (we have thermometers on hand to check temps; Children will not be admitted if they have had Calpol or similar medication which might mask symptoms (parents will be asked to sign a form to confirm that they will comply with this new emergency policy); Children with family members who are self isolating cannot attend for a period of 14 days from the point at which no member of the household is self isolating; Drop off and collection times will be set in stone..so no early drops and no late collections and if parents continually breach either the social distance or are unable to be punctual they will be asked to not attend in order to protect those who are complying; We reserve the right to close with limited or no notice in the event that a member of staff or attending child develops symptoms; we may consider rolling out our return starting with the children who are starting school in Sept, then three year old's and then latterly 2 year old's to ensure our procedures are working, that everyone is staying safe and to iron out any unexpected problems if we have to make any changes to these procedures in due course we shall inform you via this page and of course as parents you are entirely within your rights to choose not to send your child into pre-school until you feel safe.
  7. Has anyone yet drafted a "risk assessment" ready for when they return and if so would they be willing to share it? My brain is frazzled and although I've thought about what I need to consider and have a game plan...I'm worried I might do something wrong or miss something out. Our age group is 2-4 in one room but we are considering just returning the 4 yr old "transitioners" to start with...see how that goes and as they are a bit older might be a tad easier but just wondered how others will support return and I keep thinking I'm missing bits of the jigsaw.
