  1. I have seen 'snot stations' set up - but I hate the expression.
  2. What sort? anything in particular we should watch out for?
  3. It is rather annoying- play dough ok, sand no. I know which I'd think was safer
  4. I agree. I also noted that the BBC film showing the British setting clearly had the parent in the setting too, when advice is- not allowed unless 100% essential.
  5. I'm pretty sure they have sanplay in Denmark wasn't they supposed to be our model settings ?
  6. If we open before September we will not be have anything major re: signage. Our LA produced a A4 sheet which I'll print of a few, and I'll do a few hand washing etc. But we're just a small preschool and I want to keep it all a simple and 'normal' as possible.
  7. Well Boris did mention EYs once when reading his notes - he just forgot about us when he had to think for himself answering questions!
  8. No, you need those extender sticks [for the larger than normal person] that you see advertised in those strange supplements that come with the Sunday papers.
  9. Well my LA finally issued guidance at 1.50pm today. To be fair they do seem to offering support for those choosing to open- it's just late in day for term-time setting that are technically closed next week.
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/collections/starting-primary-school/1 I had a letter in the post about it pre-lockdown complete with stickers for the children. The link hadn't been working, but tried yesterday and it was there I've had a quick look, and there are some activities that I'm going to print off to put in a pack/bag and I'm going to deliver to all parents. I have also signed up for some 'book trust' books which I hope I receive, as this will go in the pack too. Sorry I haven't got a link for the book trust thing though - I found it during the wee small hours when I couldn't sleep and didn't think to save the link.
  11. Pretty sure Riddore just to cover yourself really. https://www.hse.gov.uk/news/riddor-reporting-coronavirus.htm?fbclid=IwAR03shakb28yd1I66GIH8mqGT2-gPqYO8OsnBdOR0Evl5SjWLyI9B8jGmn8
  12. My husband said similar! I must admit I feel shattered . Since we told the parents our decision not to open 1st June (so probably Tuesday night) was the first time I've slept properly since we closed. To be honest I now think the parents actually wanted us to say it, I was expecting negativity but all I've had so far is positive comment from them. Pheww.. There's been so much reading and digesting information, trying to keep in touch with parents and staff etc. I'm now focussing on how we can do a distance learning type transition for our school leavers. The BBC have a good website for starting primary school - I shall add the link to our face book on 1st June. That is the sum total my forward planning for the half-term sorted. I am trying to do nothing. My husband has been tea-total for about 15 years or so due to medication (well he does drink alcohol free drinks). A couple of years ago he was told he can have the odd drink - but the effect of the alcohol will be strong, so 1 drink will possibly =3. He said the after the last month or so dealing my work problems he now feels the need to try alcohol again and will be sharing my bottle of Pimms bank holiday Monday.
  13. My guess is they too are awaiting the 'further guidance' before committing to anything..
  14. I knew taking the lazy route would pay off.
  15. Check with you LA. Ours have said we will keep funding unless a parent chooses to use another setting. Even then they will expect that setting to first use up funding given for a child not attending their setting first. Which I guess is fair enough.
  16. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!! Blursday is the the new - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday!
  17. I see what you did there.... You've just tried to convince us all it's Friday - well you not getting me I know its Monday
  18. Well, spookily I just had an email saying it was a survey on opening - I had to put our reg-no, and postcode etc... do you recon I still need to email?
  19. We at least had confirmation that we will receive funding even if closed, unless a parent wanst to use the funding elsewhere. However - if funding is used elsewhere the other setting will be expected to cover costs from un-attendance funded children first before claiming off the closed setting. (hope that made sense) Seems our LA want to try and support closed settings as much a possible .......... although I wouldn't be surprised if it did change.
  20. Don't suppose you have a link to where we email ? (please ). Thankfully I've never had to contact ofsted [finger crossed I've not jinxed it ] Obviously it's not that I'm to lazy to look up myself........... I'm just asking for a friend .....
  21. I'm just hoping the PSLAs delay about insurance clarification is because they are updating polices inline with any changes
  22. Our green waste is weekly, the other two rotate weeks. I live at the end of our village, and for some reason our side of the 'main' road is the different the rest. We are opposite collects of black/paper, and the following day. All good when I'm working as I just know its the opposite when I drive home on a Tuesday which bin to put out when I get home. - obviously we have to think about which one now!
  23. I was doing fine, I would wake up each morning and recite the day. .....then one day I cooked a full Sunday roast on a weekday- I've completely lost it since then. The bin men are my heroes, they are the only stability in my life at the moment. 7am every Wednesday without fail
  24. Aren't all committee members DBS checked? Maybe they can volunteer...?
  25. It's just so hard isn't it Not sure what is worst to be honest- being the owner/manager and having to make the decision alone, or manager with a committee that really don't understand what they are doing. I have to say, our letters went out yesterday morning explaining why we weren't opening - then around midday we were told by landlords that we couldn't open anyway. So far the parents have be all so supportive it has made me feel in a far better place mentally than I have been in weeks. I dare say I shall have a few moans- I am waiting for one parent it particular to message me
