Tapestry Newsletter October 2021

JackTapestrySupport

Hello everyone! We hope you’ve had a great October.

TEC

We’re happy to announce our next Tapestry Education Conference. The theme for the event is Reflecting on CPD in the Early Years, at a time when the need for quality CPD is in the limelight.

If you want to attend live so you have a chance to submit questions to our panelists, then please sign up here. It’s on the 4th of November from 6 to 8 p.m.

There you will also find information about the three speakers at the event: Iram Siraj, Annie Richardson and Emily Lees.

These conferences are completely free, online, and available to watch on our website and YouTube channel after the live event.  You can see some of our previous TECs here

Recordings and downloadable versions of the presentations can be used to support your CPD.

New Articles

We have two new articles on the Tapestry site this month. The first by our upcoming TEC panelist Annie Richardson is all about the importance of knowledge of child development to our early years practice.

The second is by one of our previous TEC co-hosts, Liz Pemberton, who reflects on a year of anti-racist discourse in the Early Years sector.

BACS Payments

We are aware that some remittances sent to bacs@eyfs.info didn't find their way through to us as a result of a Microsoft quarantining issue. If your payment has been made in the last month but your account has not been updated accordingly, please send the remittance to bacs@eyfs.info again, marked 'copy remittance', so that we can check through our unallocated payments and ensure there’s no interruption to your service.

Feature Focus: Reflections.

Reflections has been on Tapestry for quite a while now, but we wanted to draw attention to it again in conjunction with the way the new EYFS works on Tapestry.

If you aren’t familiar with Reflections, we recommend having a quick look at our Feature Page which will tell you a bit more about it.

If you want to get set up and start using Reflections right away, these two tutorials will help:

  1. Setting up Reflections
  2. Adding a Reflection

Reflections can support you and your team as we all settle into the new EYFS Framework. With the move away from collecting data towards a greater focus on a narrative for children’s development you can use Reflections as a space to reflect on children’s individual journeys.

Reflections can link directly to the Areas of Concern screen, so that along with your observations, your reflections can help guide your practice and planning for your children.

If you have any questions about Reflections, you can email us on customer.service@eyfs.info

That’s all for this month.

Best wishes from the Tapestry teamfile:///C:/Users/Jack/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image008.png
