Two weeks ago we received our knock on our door and now our report has been published feel I can share with you all our experiences. We had 2 inspectors who were extremely thorough, they spent time with both the children and every member of staff. We were inspected last year and since then moved premises hence the additional inspection so grateful it will now be 4 years until it all happens again

Just read this on the BBC news website. No real detail as yet, but I gather yet another consultation is to be done, which no doubt, the results of which will be completely ignored by the powers that be!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-22184434 I will await the official announcement which is to be released today.

I went to work at 7.30 everyday last week except Friday. At 8.45 my senior rings me, Ofsted have arrived! I know I mustn't share my result yet but nobody here knows my setting. It amazes me how another human being can make you forget the simplist things. Inspector to staff 'where do you wash your hands after nappy changing?' Reply 'we wear gloves and use the toilets'. Mrs O questioned me on this. My reply 'there is a sink with hand washing soap in the room' . The staff member knew this because she does it everyday! She was just so nervous. The adrenalin rush was amazing, and I was so very proud of my team. Only 2 small recommendations at feedback time. She was very focuse…

OFSTED showed up to one of our after school clubs tonight but left as there were no EYFS children present. Hopefully when I get to nursery tomorrow they will be waiting and we can get the blasted thing over with!!

We are awaiting our inspection and I am nervous as I don't think I have enough evidence to show howe we Self Evaluate. I completed the SEF at the end of August, but have not updated the new format yet. Do you keep a log of all changes you make or implement, use a specific form or just rely on the SEF? Many thanks

So.. our last inspection was Autumn 2008, and we have been on tenterhooks all last term but no show. My chair yesterday had a call from ofsted checking an outstanding crb for a committee member... does this mean they are looking at us and we should expect a visit soon??? Or is this completely random? Really just want to get it over with now!

With the new framework I want to start preparing for 'the' visit! I thought a bit of reflection and evaluation with all staff would be a great opportunity to look at what we do and compare with the inspection framework. Has anyone done anything like this? I have downloaded the forms in the resource section for good and outstanding. Could anyone share any tips of ideas for this. Many Thanks

I read somewhere that just before a settings inspection your SEF becomes inaccessible, is this true?

Well, 9-30 door bell goes and there stands an OFSTED inspector - think my first words to her were - 'you're a month early!' We only moved in to our new building in September and wasn't expecting a visit for at least a month and a half! Apparently the environmental health body had put in a 'serious' complaint about us because.... our changing unit was in the baby room! So relieved it's all over though!

Ofsted 3 weeks ago then today Environmental Health turned up.(Typical ! I had taken the day off) Do they all speak to each other I wonder. Just Health and Safety to turn up now. We got a good from Ofsted. My deputy forgot to ask our grade today from Environmental Health but we got a 5 (the highest) last time and I would hope for the same this time. But it is getting a little wearing now and I wish I could get on without the feeling that we are constantly being checked on. When Mr O came he thought we were only an out of school club as he had not been told we opened our day nursery expansion 18 months ago (yes -big sigh- I had informed Ofsted and they had acknowle…
