In case you haven't seen it yet, the latest information on OFTSED outcomes since the start of the EYFS can be found on the OFTSED website Its quite interesting to see at a glance where OFTSED reports identify the 'weak' spots as well as the real strengths..

Well like many of you i like reading OFSTED reports. I was trying to find a good out of schoolOFSTED report and an inadequate one to give to manager so she can see the way OFSTED work/inspect (if thats poss!!). Boy did i find an inadequate one... was inspected...inadequate...inspected again few months later...inadequate...inspected about month later (no report this time but an official letter)...saying the improvement was inadequate and then inspected a few months later to say things had improved. As far asb I can tell not once was it closed! Is it actually a last resort ie only if it was a serious safeguarding issue? Anybody know of a setting that was closed…

Just wondering if there are any new settings who have just had their first ofsted? I have a new setting that opened March, so would be expecting an ofsted in august, but was curious if anyone has had a "new" inspection over the summer? (due to new government and changes!)

-hi All i need some help. I have been asked to attend a setting for an observation on Monday for twenty minutes.I am expected to prepare an activity for a group of five mixed ability, Reception children. The focus of the activity should be CLLD.The job that I am applying for is a nursery nurse post . I have no idea what to do. I have emailed the school to say that I will email the activity plan and learning outcome intentions prior to Monday. I dont know if its a good idea to have done that but I feel that the team that will observe me should know what I aim to present and achieve.Should I have done this? What kind of activity should I do and should I differientiate …

Phew Made It!

Last day of term today (we only do 37 weeks so finish a week before schools) so that means we are officially Ofsted free until September at the earliest! This means we can do all those little jobs we have been meaning to get done BEFORE they arrive. Hurrah! We've been expecting them since May so it is quite a relief. Not that we are doing anything wrong, just that we want to be completely up to speed before they do.

arrived there this morning mrs o in my parking space. Heart beats fast. She offered to carry in my belongings for me - half the role play corner! All went well and am still smiling - She was really understanding about being a pack away setting and not wanting to hold me up whilst I set up. A point of interest for you lot said she likes SEFS that are bullet pointed and are printed off and used in the setting! Off for a drink now

Hi all, Haven't been on here much at all recently - been totally distracted by twitter and subsequently not enough hours in the day! Anyway, just heard officially that we have been judged OUTSTANDING by Ofsted )) 15 areas outstanding and 2 good. Absolutely delighted with that especially as my setting is in a very deprived area and it's good to know the hard work has been recognised. Thanks for all the help I've had on here over the past few years. A

Extended Hours
by Guest- 1 reply

Hi Just to let you know how I have been progressing with the extended hours. Some of you gave me ideas and how to deal with the extra hours as a teacher. we have been doing the 3 hour sessions since January and every now and then I reminded my head that I was doing more hours than the rest of the staff and out of principal perhaps I should have time to do other things. Well I am so glad I stood my ground because I have been given a morning every week next year, with cover, to make up for the extra hours! Never thought it would happen, so my advice is as a nursery teacher stand your ground.

Relocation Within A School
by Guest- 2 replies

Hi All Can anyone give me some advice. I am currently leasing a room within a school to house my privately run pre-school. The school until recently was an infant school on the site adjacent to a junior school. The two schools have amalgamated and now need me to move from my current location so that they can build to join the two schools together. Problem is that the proposed classroom for my relocation is set at the opposite side of the school where there is no natural light both in the classroom and the outdoor allotted space due to massive trees covering the area ( which are protected) and also the position being set back in the shade. The whole area is gloomy …

Hi all Haven't been on the forum for a while but just had to share with you that dispite all my fears of Ofsted inspectors they are human. Ours came a few weeks ago and spent a lot of time playing with the children and talking to parents. We were judged as OUTSTANDING accross all 17 areas. Big smiles all round !
