We had our inspection recently. The report was received today and we can announce to all...... WE HAVE BEEN JUDGED OUTSTANDING IN ALL 17 AREAS. As you can imagine we are all over the moon and gave the children a party the next day to say a big thank you to them. We moved to our new premises this year after being in a church hall for a number of years. The feeling of not having to pack away every week and having a beautiful garden of our own is brilliant. Had a form arrive today with our OFSTED registration fee asking us to let them know who has left and who has joined us - from when I don't know! Is this a new thing because as far as I knew they never wanted to know about new staff. I'm going to have to ring them to find out who they have registered with us to work out what I need to write. Surely if this is a new thing then wouldn't it be easier to start a list of employees from scratch! This is on the paperwork: Declaration and consent form for all individuals connected with a registered provision (form EY2) April 2010 This form should be completed by: sole owner applicants to provide early years childcare a…

We recently had to re register our established provision because we became a limited company. I always assumed that the inspection time would be the same as for new inspections - that is - within 6 months of registration. Just wondered if anybody knew what the ruling was for this type of re-registration. We re-registered in November 2009. I am reluctant to go away on holiday when they could be arriving imminently. Any advice or ideas would be gratefully received!! I hate the waiting game!

Having downloaded the new information for Ofsted Inspections...... I have come across something that I am really winding myself up about....... On page 33 it says .......not in these words........if you are sharing information with other settings but they in turn are not sharing info. with you......... 'Although it may be unfair to judge partnerships as inadequate, SUCH PARTNERSHIPS CAN NEVER BE JUDGED AS OUTSTANDING AND ARE UNLIKELY TO BE BETTER THAN SATISFACTORY, depending on the evidence available. (Caps. are the 'new' bit) Now I have worked extremely hard on information sharing but this has not always been reciprocated by other settings..........this …

Just thought I would post some more "bed time reading" for you all. This document does at least highlight all the new changes in red, and many are minor but the issue of "sustainability" was news to me. http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/Ofsted-home/Forms...ars-inspections happy reading

hi, I have taken over the previously committee run pre-school I manage; it's now my private business (finally!!!). The inspector who came and did my suitable person interview said that they come out to do the post registration inspection (unannounced) within 6 months maximum of the new registration being granted. The new registration was granted mid March. Last time, when we were a completely new setting, the post registration visit happened 4 months after we opened. those of you in fairly new settings or who have had a change of ownership etc, how long was it roughly from the registration being granted to the inspection? thanks, A

Hi Everyone, Had a call from Ofsted today to arrange site visit of new site. She explained she would be inspecting because we are moving premises. Does anyone have any experience of this type of inspection. It will be myself, the chair and Inspector on site. I am guessing they will go over our operational plan, theoretical risk assessment etc. Would really appreciate any advice, comments, suggestions or reassuring words from anyone who has gone through this type of inspection previously. Thanks in advance Claire x
