The Dreaded Visit

Just have to share this. We had the dreaded visit yesterday!! I've had a very stressfull week with a very poorly dog, so worried about him, he was in the hospital for two days and just as we were going to fetch him yesterday when our Deputy rang me up to let me know Ofsted had just arrived. (6mths to early) What bad timing!! Our deputy handled it fantastically and I popped in after we dropped our dog at home. Inspector came back today, was very nice, down to earth, sympathised with the fact that so many people tell us so many different things, she was very supportive, Gave us a Good. Very very pleased. I'm so happy, can't stop smiling!! :(

AND it went fantastically brilliantly....I can't stop grinning as result was sooo much more than I could have dreamed of and the inspector was brilliant and helpful and full of good advice and I wanted to give him a huge hug. Am so glad its done now and feel that all my teams hard work has paid off...woohoo

Hi I know it used to be that you was okay if you had 50% of staff qualified this is not a problem all but one of my staff are qualified to level 3 or 4 but one member of staff is unqualified other than a certificate in Early Years foundation stage and first aid but she is 61 and is really not wanting to do a qualification and is worrying herself sick over it. Where do i stand do I have to get her to do a qualification???

I have heard a couple of times that if you cannot access your online SEF, that means an inspection is imminent. Does anyone know if this is acctually true or is it just an urban myth? I finally put our SEF online and now want to check it is still active every 30 seconds just incase!!

Do you have to have evidence of funded children? E.g. documentation? mentions something about it on p.22 of the 'are you ready for your inspection?' guide ppp

Playgroups last inspection was in 2007, so another is on the horizon. At that time the inspector phoned to say she was coming but then added 'you got a good last time, I dont think you will this time'. This was before she set foot in the place. She's also the inspector who did my SPI in 2000 and suggested we use builders sand if we couldnt get play sand. This year we dont want her coming out to us, is it possible to ask that we have someone else, bearing in mind this is her 'patch'?
