we got our report today and feel very deflated by it we got satisfactory with some goods. at the time of feedback we expressed our opinion that we thought the judgment was not what we expected . we have worked solidly for over 3yrs since we got a satisfactory last time improving and growing by QA working with the authority having numerous audits etc her judgments were based around one child we only had 7 in we are tiny 12 places and 16 after school which was not observed but still passed????? She stayed in our one small playroom from 9-4 with only a 20min break at 2.30 when her assesor appeared yes they get inspected too she was shaking more than us at feedback time. …

Hi Can anyone help me? I am a Reception teacher/Foundation Stage Co-ordinator writing the SEF form Sub-section A5: How effective is the Early Years Foundation Stage? I have managed to do A5.1 Outcomes for children in the EYFS A5.2 The quality of provision in the EYFS A5.3 The efffectiveness of leadership and management in the EYFS but how do I tackle, A5.4 Overall effectiveness: how well does the setting/school meet the needs of children in the EYFS?, without repeating what I've written in the previous 3 bits??? Any ideas, or where to find out?? Thank you in advance Lis x

Hi guys, Wonder if any of you can help.... I am a pre-school so therefore get no notice of Ofsted turning up, however an infant school very close to us has an inspection next week, do they normally work areas so I can expect them to arrive with us soon? Thanks Laura

Had this from our CDO yesterday, and thought it might be useful for those due to be inspected: Please can you be aware that ofsted are taking no prisoners and dishing out inadequate. please can you consider your vulnerable groups particularly and make sure they have cp in place. This will mean that they need to get all in place should ofsted arrive. Please make sure that; 1. The staff list of CRBS is in the setting and has the date the CRB was given, the number and the signature and date it was checked. Evening, haven't posted for a while but going to be cheeky and ask a question anyway. I was talking to some colleagues today and was told that a satisfactory grade is no longer good enough, any school receiving a satisfactory grade will be re-inspected with only a 15 - 30 minute warning. Selfishly maybe, but does anyone know if this also applies to pre-schools? Not so much the warning part (as we don't get one) be the re-inspection if we get satisfactory grade. Thank you! Karrie

Ofsted Inspecter popped in yesterday to inform that l am having my inspection today. Am really not prepared. She had inspected another provision in the area. I had been operating as a childminder previously and had re-registered to full daycare 6 months ago.

Ofsted just rang to see if we are open this week as some settings are not open until next week. Erm that leaves 1 day then - tomorrow!!! So with the new SEF and inspection criteria that came into effect the other day has anyone been inspected and can tell me what they are hot on?

Just for info one of our schools had its Ofsted this week under the new framework and they were VERY hot on safeguarding, spent a whole half day on it apparently and were really checking for community cohesion, healthy choices, and the ECM agenda. Can't say much more obviously but thought I'd share that
