Were you inspected in the Spring term? Would you like to tell us about it? I am starting a new thread like this one from the Autumn term: celebrate your inspection You can email me rebecca@eyfs.info and I will let you know what we need. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it!

Have you just got 'outstanding' for the first time? or did you just get another 'outstanding' and you're delighted to hang onto it? Did you just get a 'good' after a period of turmoil and need to tell everyone about it?! If this is you and you'd like to share your good news then let me know and I'll put you on our front page ... I need a little logo, a link to your report and maybe a few sentences (less than 10) to celebrate your achievement - who knows we might send you a little something to say well done! Send your bits and pieces to me at FSF: rebecca@eyfs.info

Well we were expecting it, we were 4 years in january and 2 settings around us had been done in the last couple of weeks. We've got 2 inspectors as we are a large setting, one of them did our registration visit and our last inpsection so we can't wait to show her how much we have changed, we only had 3 rooms then and now we are 6! The other sounded lovely on the phone. Staff have been amazing pulling together, coming in when on holiday to check their rooms, typical that 2 of our room leaders were on holiday today but they are stars to come in. I still teach one day a week and guess what that's tomorrow but my school have kindly found cover for me.. They've even covere…

Good morning, We will be moving premises shortly and have been informed by OFSTED that we need to complete the EYS form to add an additional setting which we have done. Whilst reading the registration handbook it states "where organisations change their name or the registered address (the address where ofsted sends legal documents) and the registered person remains the same, a new application for registration is not required" Now we are are moving to a new address and everything else remains the same (staff, committee, nominated person, managers) so does anyone know if this means we do not require a new registration?? Why can't the handbooks be less wordy and …

At the Ofsted Big Conversation held in London on Monday Gill Jones HMI updated us on current inspection issues and also took questions and provided clarification fro those providers attending. The following points were made: The % of settings gaining 'Good' or 'Outstanding' is increasing. Partly the sector is improving, but also the poorer settings are closing and leaving the sector Ofsted are very well aware of the settings that close following a poor inspection and reopen under a new registration. History searches are completed before new registrations are granted There is a new EYFS framework due with some minor amendments (around safeguarding and first aid). Until t…

Well we've had our ofsted inspection and it did go well we're in the middle of changing our planning to trying more in the moment planning and moving away from planning for the following week our ofsted inspector was so excited to see what we were trying to do and achieve that it gave us the confidence we needed to realise we are moving in the right direction for the benefit of the children she also told us we don't need the planning sheets we were using and could get rid of them so we are looking for ideas of how other settings record their in the moment planning

We are due to have our Ofsted pre registration visit and the first question in the Ofsted booklet is to give an example of a play activity for a very young child that would support their learning and development. Maybe I'm over thinking it, but have any you had any experience of answering the question when you are in a nursery that uses 'in the moment planning?'

At the Ofsted Big Conversation held in London on Monday Gill Jones HMI updated us on the transfer of inspectors from the ISPs to 'in house' with Ofsted. The following points were made: Training updates for all inspectors have been delivered by Ofsted for the last 2 years Approx 900 inspectors were trained in the CIF From April 2017 inspectors will be either employed directly by Ofsted or contracted by Ofsted There is a planned timescale for the complete transfer from the ISPs to Ofsted: April 2017 - inspectors transferred over, Dec 2017 - Ofsted will begin move to 'regionalisation' there will be 8 regions nationally, these regions will be led by a regional manager and w…
