Query Re: Submitting Sef

Just a quick question..... Do you have to complete all sections of the SEF form to be able to submit it online? At the moment my manager is having problems submitting what we have done. Not all sections are completed. However, on some recent training course I was told that it was a working document that could be updated and submitted regularly.....Any ideas what we are doing wrong??!! Any help would be appreciated!

Operational Plans

Hi, I am wondering how providers or settings are collating information within theit operational plans. I have seen some organised into the ECM outcomes and others organised under the headings of the EYFS welfare requirements. This is being advised to be done by advisory teachers in our area. Any further information, hints or tips would be appreciated. Thanks. :-)

Am delighted to be able to formally anounce that we got outstanding in all areas in our latest report. Thrilled as inspection was on last 2 days of term, which caught us totally off gauard!! So glad it's over!! We were hoping for goods with a smattering of outstandings, but are so thrilled by our actual judgements. However, report has quite a lot of grammatical errors and typos in it. Don't want to complain as such, but would like them to be corrected. Should I contact O or just let it go?

Got our report this morning and we are officially GOOD in all areas. Delighted with result and will be celebrating with staff and committee on Tuesday night. Couldn't have done it without them. Just have to get copies for all parents before we close on Friday. Have written to Ofsted to thank our Inspector for making the inspection so much less stressful than we have experienced previously. Having complained before I felt it only fair to offer praise when it is deserved! Hope everyone has a good summer break and comes back refreshed in September. korkycat

so by 5pm and she's still in the rooms and not even looked at paperwork I've resigned myself to a "2 dayer" . Staff are loving her, she's chatting like old friends with parents staff and children and I'm vomiting in the office and being what can only be described as a pain in the arse to all staff as they walk past me and I hiss..."What did she say? is she smiling? what did you say? don't panick, keep going...you are great...did she smile?" Now, you would have thought that due to the nature of my job I go through inspections on a regualr basis and have been through more than my fair share these things would get easier, but apparently one of the best moments for th…

We finished for the summer today, so were somewhat thrown off balance by the appearance of Mrs O at the door yesterday morning. Just wanted to share that this felt like a very different inspection: we were asked very few questions and the inspector just went around looking at documentation etc and interacted a lot with the children. We had our feedback today, and was nearly sick in anticipation, especially as we had just had a really emotional morning saying goodbye to our leavers and their families. Suffice to say we are extremely happy at the outcome, and I am now sitting and relaxing with my feet up!!! Will post more when I can, and will happily answer any queries ab…

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the OFSTED online site seems to be closed quite regularly for 'essential maintenance'. I know the site was 'down' last Thursday for this reason and now there is a message saying this will be the case tomorrow between 8-9pm. Rumour has it that OFSTED 'freeze' online SEFs when an inspection is about to take place and therefore many practitioners are checking their online SEF with great regularity. My suspicious mind is wondering (if this is the case) whether OFSTED have got wise to this practice ( no pun intended!) and are doing 'essential maintenance' and not 'freezing' SEFs. Does this garbled message make any sen…

Well, we've been expecting this - it's 1 week short of three years since our last inspection. Mrs O arrived this morning and I received a call from my Deputy at 9.30 ( I don't work Monday am). I'd just got out of the bath (at camp all weekend with Cubs) so had to rush down to setting as we need all staff for ratios. She was really lovely and was happy to read what we had done of our SEF from computer and remarked that it was easy to read which was very helpful (bullet points) and how we had talked about what the children did. She talked to all staff in morning and the children too - we even had a terrible 2 tantrum and the children (bless them) were really lovely to…

We had our inspection on June 2nd, and we have got a outstanding. We had already sent in our sef report, which we filled in but didnt go over thew top on any areas, A very nice inspector turned up on Tuesday morning at 9.30am to say he was going to inspect us, He said he was impressed with our sef so he would only need to be with us for 1 morning session. He spent some time watch the children and staff, to give himself an overal picture of the setting before he went into the office to look through some of the paper work. He said at the feed back that the children were all interacting and they was confident. He said from looking at the children he had not pick…
