Hi all - Here in sunny Kent - we have been given a folder of information entitled 'In an Emergency'. Thought I should read advice re. Pandemic Illness and guess what I found........... Pandemic Illness - Item 3 - 'Owners/managers/supervisors/committees and governing bodies should consider the pandemic issues and infection control in day to day management. For example: *Review existing plans and initiate *Review staffing regularly and have plans in place to manage for possible staff shortage…

We are now overdue our OFSTED inspection, and have been watching this section of the forum for some time now. Many of you must have been inspected but not left posts. Would really value any new info that you can share on Mrs O's "hot topics", new areas of interest, change of focus since EYFS etc. I think we are well prepared, have checked EYFS "must and shoulds" really carefully, but would hate to get pulled up on some minor focus that I may have missed. Any advice??? Please share your experiences.....I bet I am not the only one who would greatly appreciate this. Thanks PS forget to state that we are a small sessional preschool based in London

Confused!

Our little primary school was inspected on Thursday - and I am a little confused about some of the comments that were made about my planning. I should add that my little Early Years class did very well but could have done 'outstandingly' better if I had not altered my planning. I hadn't changed it because Ofsted were coming simply because I was leading from the interests of the children on the previous day - when I handed over my planning I was told I had not done myself any favours by changing the planning - in fact I was told that if I had written plans I should have stuck to it. I know I am very new to the Early Years, but have always thought that planning should be…

Hi All, Though we did not have an ofsted inspection, we were selected for a random inspection by our local authority - a lady came today and walked around with her clip board all morning - worse than ofsted I must say....... Anway, morning OK ish - until it was just about 10 mins before tidy up time - our role play is currently set up as a hospital with books about ie going into hospital having a baby et etc. Anyhow, one of my lovley little girls went to the book area laid down on a cushion, another girl pretending to be the midwife came over and rubbed her neck, then the midwife went and found a doll and stuck it under the little girls dress - all of a sudden w…

Sef Locked?
by Guest- 6 replies

Help please! I may be a bit dense & panicking slightly, as I know there are some policies that need updating, but I can't view the SEF I submitted on 10/3 and suspect they're coming. It's just that I haven't really looked at it since I submitted so I'm not really sure how it looks on screen when that happens. The only current option under saved & submitted forms appears to be to print. Does that mean it's locked?
