Finally I managed to access our SEF online. I'd hoped I could copy and paste some bits from various documents but I can't work out how to paste into the online version. Can anyone help? Al

Does anyone know if the SEF will be replacing the operational plan because the more i look at it, the more it looks like my op plan, just without the evidence. I was thinking of placing the completed hard copy ( when I get round to it) in the appropriate sections of my op plan with the relevant evidence (photos, policies, documentation, questionaires etc.) what do you think?

HI, hmmmm, took the decision to work from home today and get on with the SEF, how long is it LOL, in know i can waffle but im still only just done the five outcomes (kind of halfway through) and have been at it all day. granted it does take some thinking about and i have found it a useful excercise just did not expect it to take so long. I think that the nursery owners think it will be all done in a day, oh how wrong.... plus it would help if it automatically carried out a spell check for you. how long did it take you all?, or is that a question that merits the answer of 'how long is a piece of string' Dawn

Hi all I've never started a topic so here goes..... I work at a pre-school and have a good relationship with our local childminder.She has recently had her inspection which was "good". When she asked why she hadn't achieved outstanding the inspector told her she wasn't authorised to give that grade. Has anyone else had this experiance and does this mean they know how they are going to grade you before hand? To me this opens up all sorts of theories.

Hi New to forum and was wondering if anyone had experience of when Inspectors visit settings following changes within. I took over as Supervisor in November and have only just received an expensive health report from the doctor to send on to Ofsted so all the formalities have been completed from my end. I understand that there are triggers for when Ofsted could carry out inspections and one of them is change of Manager. This has really put the willies up me as I'm in the thick of reviewing the policies and procedures that should have been done last year before I took over. OFSTED CAME 2DAY AW 9AM KNOK ON THE DOOR!! Was awful like she ws asking me all questions under the sun.I was on my own when she was observing me so got asked all the questions aw so glad its over .She said we worked well and was really good with the children-outdoors open etc-she asked a lot of questions and watched the children a lot looked at our planning glad it out d way hows ur ofsteds going!!!

Just following on from my other post - our inspection finished today and we had our feedback session when the inspector turned her laptop round to show us me and my partner burst out crying as we got.......................................................................... all outstandings!! Such a relief I feel as though Im dreaming
