Warning

Just thought I would let you know that my old pre-school was Ofsted'ed today with no notice whatsoever!! The inspectors phoned the primary school on Monday to say they were inspecting the school on Thursday and Friday. The pre-school is on the grounds of the school but run entirely independantly. The inspectors knocked on their door this afternoon!!!! The pre-school was 'done' in May last year too!! I am not sure why the pre-school wasnt given any notice but the school was. So be prepared!!

by Guest- 2 replies

Hi, been at my pre school for 6 months now and wondered if Ofsted are likely to turn up soon. The setting was last inspected in February last year and received Satisfactory. How long do Ofsted leave between visits? Does it make a difference if the leader changes? Hopefully not! mrsW

Hi our pre-school had our inspection on 12th September and we are still waiting for the report to be published. Has anyone else who has had an inspection since EYFS started had their report published? We keep checking the ofsted website and there doesn't seem to be many being put on.

Hi everyone I'm very new to this site and have hardly posted, but I'm sat in my office now awaiting feedback from two Ofsted inspectors and feeling very anxious! When I know my fate I will share what I can with you as, although I'm not a regular poster, I have become hooked on reading all the great advice on here. More later.

Ofsted Have Been And Gone!

Hi everyone, Well today we had our first OFSTED inspection as a new provision. Although we didn't get what we were hoping for, it wasn't as painful as we thought it would be. The OFSTED inspector was lovely and gave us some good ideas. We were praised as a team and she was impressed with our understanding and deliverance of the new EYFS, so that was really pleasing. Thankfully there were no actions just a few recommendations. So we'll keep up the good work and keep on improving. Just thought I'd share the news! I'm going to treat the staff for all their hard work. They deserve it.

New Inspection

had our ofsted inspection on friday - we had expected it to be this term but not just 5 days into the new term. We had 2 inspectors and they did the inspection in one pre-school session, after initially telling us they would be here on monday as well, and gave us feedback on the same day! It went very well and was positive, even though we haven't finalised the recording process for our observations etc they were happy that we were developing the system at present. The children were fantastic throughout the session. I have just about calmed down enough to focus on the coming week but at least we are not now waiting for the door bell to ring everyday!

Lesson Observation Proforma

Hi, with the changes to the Early Years my head has asked me to come up with an observation sheet that she can use as a checklist when she is observing me teach Reception! She used to use the same one for the whole school, but I said I felt that it might not be appropriate now, so she asked me to find one that was! Has anyone got anything that might help me? Thanks
