i recently read a topic where people were asking about ofsted visits. we were registered in January and were told that they would do a visit in 6-9 mths. it would probably not be before september because of all the changes. GUESS WHAT monday morning 9am ofsted turned up. I was shaking all morning. they came back on Tuesday morning i was still shaking. This was my first one. we did really well and got Good. I am so pleased that what we are doing is alright. Anyway i can now relax but if you are due an inspection i suggest you stay on your toes until the end of term. THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE!!!!!!! Eyfs And Sef

I understood that OFSTED were bringing out a new, in-depth Self-Evaluation form to go with the new- style Inspections. Does anyone know if this is out yet? I'm asking because we are due to review our current one before the end of term & I'm not sure how to do it. If the new one isn't available yet I guess I'll carry on as before; it just feels a little weird when just about everything else has been revised for EYFS.

We are a committe run preschool and had a bad Ofsted report back in January and have been told they are returning any time from 21st April onwards. What I want to know is that for a revisit will we get any warning that they're coming or are they likey just to tunr up whenever they like?

What Children's Drawing Tell Us
by Guest- 5 replies

Hi, I used to have a detailed account of the developmental stages children go through when they are drawing. You could see the progression from early scribble to detailed pictures. Ours have just drawn a picture of themselves and their friends for a competition and I would love to know what things mean. The speech and language therapist said that these drawings are a great insight into cognitive development. If anyone can help with a simple explanation or point me in the direction of one, I would be so grateful. Thank you.
