Well at last we have received our report today, despite me finding it on the internet 2 days ago! We received Good overall with an outstanding grade for Protecting children from harm or neglect and helping them stay safe. We are really pleased with the result but so cross about some things. We really felt we should have got outstanding for Nursery Education and at the time we did feel we might appeal. Not sure whether we can survive the stress so soon again though! The inspector did say we were at the top end of good and nearly at outstanding, which is all well and good but it doesn't tell parents that. As a reception teacher I have visited a few settings that re…

We last had an inspection in May 2003 it was just a care inspection, the old style anually inspections we got "satisfactory" the inspector at the time said it could of been a good but is was little things had let us down (all easily rectified in a week), I was at the time disapointed but thought "never mind next year we'll do better..." But....... 2004 came and went, no inspection 2005 I was sent letters asking loads of questions thought "any day now" but nothing! 2006 still nothing 2007 every setting in a hundred mile radius seemed to have had their inspection but still we heard nothing... 2008 finally..... one morning, as we opened the door huddled in amongs…

Well, we have been waiting for them to come since September and today OFSTED have arrived! A very nice lady arrived at 10am this morning. Everything seems to have gone very well so far. She was only going to stay for the morning but ended up staying until 2.30, she was rather hungry as she hadn't brought any lunch! She has been very positive has made lots of lovely comments about what she has seen which is great. She is back tomorrow to look through paperwork and is feeding back on Thursday afternoon. Our poor deputy only started yesterday, talk about been thrown in at the deep end. Fortunately she had her OFSTED at her previous nursery two months ago. I…

OFSTED finally made their appearance yesterday! It is a huge relief as our last one was a whopping 4 years and 3 months ago!! I thought we'd been forgotten! We had a good day and she's due back next week for a morning and then feedback. It all looks rosey so far. I just feel the biggest sense of relief, the wait was driving me crazy. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we get the outcome that we have worked so incredibly hard to get, and a huge thanks to this site and the people who share such valuable ideas to us all, Rach x

Just as I was about to open the door to the children this morning we had a visitor with a badge that said she was from Ofsted. We have been waiting since the early part of the year and they have finally arrived. Our children have been brilliant today and the inspector made some positive comments about the play and how we work with the children. Luckily our the most challenging child on the register has gone down with chicken pox. I was relieved for us but sad for her. The inspector comes again on Wednesday with the feedback at 3p.m. I think that we will all be so drained by the time weds comes. I'll keep you posted. Mary
