I feel like i need to get this off of my chest! Ofsted arrived this morning, we have been waiting for nearly 2 years now and am so relieved they have finally turned up. The bad news: we had 5 staff off sick and it was our busiest day of the week . I had sorted 2 agency staff, but obvoiusly this was not ideal as they were not familiar with our setting or the children, but at least the ratio's were covered. I have always maintained a high number of supernumary staff to ensure a smooth running nursery, but today all staff were covering groups. The inspector - who was lovely - kept reassurring me that everything was fine, she will be back tomorrow to inspect the…

Hello everyone, I need your expert advise urgently, for tommorrow could anyone pls help me out with the types of questions Ofsted will ask a manager at a fit person interview. l have also been told that they would expect all rooms to have at least a level 3, apart from the manager. So desperate thanks

Can anyone tell me what thet do about sharing policies with parents? Do they have to sign- say on the enrolement from- that they agree to follow the policies implemeted by the nursery (eg not sending children in with infectious illness etc)

All Over And Time To Enjoy Christmas

They arrived yesterday disturbing my late morning lie in with the phonecall at 8.30 to say they had arrived. She was a really nice inspector with a great sense of humour. Human after all. Caught her in the toddler room with carrying 1 of the children and dancing with her to the wiggles on CD. Ended up with an overall good so that was great beating our satisfactory from last time. No action to be taken just couple of recommendations. The children were superstars while they were in too. And obviously the staff. So glad it is over though after 2 days. Atleast we can all relax and enjoy preparing for christmas and relax during our christmas break.

Had our Ofsted on Oct 11th -13th - how long before we receive our written report? Had nothing in the post and the Ofsted website doesn't seem to have any additions since last week? I have seen that some dates of inspection reports on the website are more recent than when our Inspection took place?? How does the system work?

HI Just browsing ofsted website (as you do on a wednesday night when you have nothing else to do LOL) and went to our nursery to find our recent inspection report has been published! Yet we haven't received it at nursery yet.... I feel naughty LOL, as i got a sneak peek hee hee Have printed it of but am not sure if i shoudl take it to the staff at work tommorow or wait for the official report....
